How to cover different shaped windows

Choose from durable aluminium shutters or beautiful basswood timber shutters for your home. If the arched window is located in the kitchen, bathroom or laundry, we recommend aluminium for its water-resistant properties.
As the name might suggest, custom plantation shutters look amazing on an arched window because they can be custom fit to the shape of the arch. Shutters can also be hinged to the side of the window, or custom cut to perfectly fit the curves of the arch. This way, you won't lose the appeal of the archway even when the shutters are closed.
Curtains and Sheers

There are few custom options you can go for when it comes to installing curtains or sheers over your arched window.
- Custom curves: This involves sewing loops or ties along the top hem of your curtain panels. Drapery medallions can then be placed to follow the curve of the frame to ensure the fabric falls in a way that mimics the window’s curves.
- Split the window: If light control is no concern, we can simply run a curtain rod across the upper third of the glass to visually separate the arch from the lower section of window. Hang your window panels over the lower portion and you have managed to treat the arch as two separate window openings.

Roller Blinds
Similar to the custom option for curtains/sheers as mentioned above, roller blinds can also be mounted as a straight bar along the top of the arch. This style of blind is a popular choice for arched windows, as they’re incredibly affordable and aesthetically pleasing. Roller blind fabric also comes in a huge range of colours, so you can easily match the blinds to your existing décor.
Our tip: For very high arches, we recommend adding a sunscreen fabric layer to reduce harsh sunlight and protect your privacy.
Aluminium Venetian Blinds
Aluminium Venetians are another great and budget-friendly choice, particularly if your arched window gets direct sunlight. The reflective material will prevent excess heat from entering the room, while the durable nature of the aluminium will ensure the blinds won’t peel, warp or fade easily.
Note: Aluminium Venetians aren't custom cut to archways so like roller blinds, the head rail will be mounted above the arch.
