Studio Cult x ABC Blinds: How to Create a Parisian Style Home in Perth

“You know what they say… Paris is always a good idea! Heavily inspired by the chic, Parisian way of life, the concept for the Belharra was poetic Parisian which we brought to life with elegant French interiors. Drawing reference from 19th century design, simple wall quad moulding was applied to the master suite bedhead wall enhance to add a touch of subtle sophistication. Playful bursts of on-trend colours like olive green, cobalt blue, serpent grey and cerise pink are a reference to the art deco movement and have been incorporated throughout. We united the juxtaposition of period details with on-trend blinds and shades by installing window coverings from ABC Blinds Perth throughout the home.

Every Parisian interior needs a captivatingly romantic element, and Filigree Odin Sheer Curtains in the colour Marble make the perfect selection for the living room. We chose to install sheer bedroom curtains for the master suite as well, as this area is visible from the alfresco areas. Although we wouldn’t usually place a sheer into a child’s room, the polyester sheer linen curtain fabric was chosen because the bedroom was on the street scape of the home, and we wanted to create a warm environment to soften the angular front elevation. By installing the sheer on a white track to the underside of the cornice, this draws attention to the height of each room and celebrates the stunning structure of the display home.

Moving over to the laundry, we installed White Sunscreen Roller Blinds as a cost-effective window solution. Colour matching the reverse of the material allows the interior and exterior to have a cohesive aesthetic. Plus, the PVC coating of these blinds is incredibly low maintenance. Roller blinds can be cleaned simply by wiping the blind with soapy water and a damp cloth, then leaving to dry. This ensures that the quality of the Venetian blinds allows no compromise on style within the wet areas of the project. We chose to repeat the Novawood product to bedroom two, which was designed for a teenager. This was to allow further control of light entering the room with the blind’s tilt control function. Plus, the refined 70mm pelmet that comes with the blinds is in line with the Parisian style that features throughout.”
